A Note From Our Founder

Hey there,

Firstly, thanks for visiting and being curious why I made this glorious space! My story isn't as polished as some may think a fitness professionals should be because I didn't start The Transformation Station because I was an athlete. I started it because I geninely (and desperately) needed it.

At my heaviest, I weighed nearly 400 pounds. I couldn't walk more than a few minutes without having to sit down. I remember walking 4 minutes (took me almost 20 minutes) from the Barrie 5 points where my family had a business, to the TD bank up the road (many moons ago now!) and not only did it take me all day to get there but one winter I had fallen and 3 strangers had to help me up. That's one of many stories that left me feeing felt stuck in my own body, and embarrassed with how I moved. That's why I started moving in the first place, even for minutes at a time. In those earlier years, I became excited about Richard Simmons (there's a photo of us kicking around the gym and a few other 80s and 90s icons that I had the privlige of crossing paths with).

I built The Transformation Station because every fitness space I walked into made me feel like I didn't belong there. I was too big, or couldn't go onto the ground and get back up, sometimes I was too loud and not serious enough, and on top of that, I had a hard time finding movements that made me included in all the benefits that come with group fitness.

Over the last 15+ years, movement changed my life. I lost 200 pounds through nutrition and exercise, regained mobility that felt like freedom, competed on stage, and had my story featured in over 20 publications including The Globe and Mail and Women's Health. And then in 2022, I gained a significant amount of weight back through life changes and to be transparent, some life stressors that included some sensitive subjects like fertility adventures and divorce. I did this rollercoaster of my weight publicly and I kept going anyway, regardless of the shame that I felt.

That part taught me the most. Real transformation isn't a straight line. Pretending otherwise is exactly what makes people feel like they're failing when they're actually human.

These days I still technically compete.. but now it's about what my body can do, not how it looks. That shift changed everything for me. It's the same shift I want to help create for you.

The Transformation Station is a space where real people with real lives and real struggles can finally feel seen, supported, and strong. We offer strength training, cardio, conditioning, and low-impact classes where we always have options, it's always coached, and always without judgment. We train for life here. We celebrate every win. And we genuinely show up for each other. Plus we're fun, and I like fun. Life is chaotic enough.

If this resonates.. then this fitness space was built for you.
